Getting Rid Of Mold In Your HomeIf you are not sure about the right ways of getting rid of mold in your home then this can lead to health problems for you and your family. What you need to remember is mold is made up or microscopic organisms that are able to grow on a variety of different surfaces and which when inhaled can lead to a number of different health conditions. Not only can inhaling these spores lead to health problems such as allergies, asthma or other respiratory infections. In some case dependent on the kind of mold that is growing in your home can lead to other health problems such as cancer or even fatal pulmonary conditions. So if you do discover any form of mold in your home how do you go about getting rid of it? Below we take a look at the kinds of things you will need to do for getting rid of mold in your home. 1. After you have discovered that you have mold growing in your home then of course the first thing you must do is find out what sort it is. Plus of course you need to discover how much of this is infecting your home. There are numerous places online as well as locally such as your DIY or hardware store that have kits that you can use to test to determine the sort of mold growing in your home. What you need to do with these kits is place the Petri dishes supplied with them that have a special gel inside at the location where you think the mold is growing. Then you need to seal up the Petri dish after a couple of days and post it to the laboratory for analysis. When they receive the sample for you the laboratory will not only identify exactly what kind of mold it is but how much is present. Once you have these results then you can decide on what sort of action you should be taking to remove it. 2. Once you have received the results regarding the mold then you must work on removing the source that it is helping it to grow. If the mold is appearing on walls, ceilings or floors then look for any water leaks that are causing it. If the problem is occurring in your bathroom then check all pipes providing water as well as those that take the waste away. 3. When it comes to you wanting to get rid of mold that has appeared on walls in a specific room then you must make sure that you reduce the levels of humidity in it. The best way to achieve this is by installing a dehumidifier in the room in question. If you find the problem is one that is restricted to cupboards in your home then use a product such as DampRid as this has the ability to remove excess moisture out of the air. 4. Many people will suggest that when it comes to getting rid of mold in a room that a solution of chlorine bleach with water will suffice. However this will only temporarily remove the problem for you and it will return at some point in the future. Instead it would be far better for you to use a specialist fungicide cleaner to remove the mold that has grown. When using such products remember to wear protective gloves and a face mask. Not only will this prevent you touching or breathing in the fumes but also any mold spores that have escaped in to the air. |

We had it too. We kept getting sick and could not understand why until we saw a commercial about mold infestation and the results. Once we got rid of it, our allergies got better and we were back to normal
We had black mold in our house and it was a nightmare, we had to move out for 3 months while they tried to remove it. I do not wish it on anybody.
